Analyzing the world using the five themes of geography helps you look at the world in different categories and to think about the world in different ways. They can help you look at how the humans change the world how we use the world, what different things on maps mean and where they are and a lot more. An example is that if you look at London using place you can see that the human characteristics are buildings, and physical characteristics are the River Thames. Movement is the most difficult theme to understand because there are different things that can be moved so it might be hard to understand what is moving. Also if you look at a lot of different things at a time the arrows showing you how things move can get confusing.
An example would be this map that does not have a key and there are lots of different routes of movement being shown that make it confusing.
Reilly, I agreed with you when you said analyzing the world using the five themes of geography helps you look at the world in different categories and to think about the world in different ways. I liked your example about london because I thought it was relevant with your topic. I find region the hardest theme because of the different borders but I can see how movement is the hardest for you.

ReplyDeleteReilly I agree 100 percent that five themes of geography helps you look at the world in different categories and to think about the world in different ways. I really like when you gave examples of human and physical characteristics because it made place seem a lot less confusing, and very clear. The only thing that I could not relate is movement being the most confusing, for me it is easy to understand how goods, ideas, and people are transported.
